NASDAQ

NASDAQ or the National Association of Securities Dealers Automatic Quotation system, is an exchange which is virtual done over the counter market. Their markets have no central location or a trading floor.

Trading is done through a computer and telecommunications network of dealers. The technology boom has made NASDAQ home to various big companies such as Microsoft, Dell Oracle and Intel. This has made competition stiff for has become one biggest competitor for is well known for market capitalization and trading volume in the New York Stock Exchange.

NASDAQ was changed from a stock market to a licensed national securities exchange and has brokerages and has formed an act which is market makers which provides continuous bid and asks prices within a certain percentage spread share. They may match buyers and sellers directly but have to meet the demands of the investors.

NASDAQ is a founding member of the United nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative during the United Nations Conference on Sustainable development.
